Head of Music Department

Xing Dong is a graduate of Berklee College of Music, where he majored in Jazz Piano Performance and Electronic Music Production and Design.

He began learning the piano at the age of five. In 2012, he was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music’s Gulangyu Piano School, where he studied classical piano under the guidance of You Yang, Wu Xiao, and others.

During his time at Berklee, Xing Dong acquired a wide range of practical music skills, which he actively applied during semester breaks—engaging in piano teaching, music production and performance for documentaries, and composing for variety shows. He also formed a Berklee ensemble and performed multiple times at piano department recitals in the Berklee Recital Hall. For four consecutive years, he served as a piano accompanist for numerous student concerts.

In 2021, he independently translated and compiled a textbook titled Modern Jazz Harmony.
