The BTEC (Business and Technology Education Council) programme in Business and Enterprise Management is a widely recognised international vocational qualification. It is designed to equip students with in-depth commercial knowledge and practical skills, thoroughly preparing them for future careers in business, enterprise management, and entrepreneurship, or for further academic study. The programme emphasises the integration of theory and practice, adopting a project-based learning approach and outcome-based assessment to develop students' critical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and teamwork spirit, enabling them to excel in complex and dynamic business and market environments.
The BTEC International Level 3 Extended Diploma in Business, Enterprise and Entrepreneurship is equivalent to A-Levels and typically takes two years to complete. Focusing on Business, Enterprise, and Entrepreneurship, it holds parity with A-Level, DSE, AP, and IB qualifications while offering greater professional relevance. YIAA Socio-Cultural Practicum
The YIAA BTEC Socio-Cultural Practicum is a core component of holistic education, integrating cultural and historical exchange, sports, and diverse competency development. Designed to immerse students in social and cultural contexts, it strengthens their practical abilities and social responsibility. Through participation in varied community activities, students from all disciplines gain creative inspiration from multiple perspectives. The more they observe and engage with the world, the greater the possibilities for their own creative expression.
The Academy also regularly organizes visits to leading local enterprises. Through dialogue with professionals and experiential learning onsite, students acquire up-to-date industry knowledge and skill requirements. Both inside and beyond the classroom, YIAA consistently embodies the BTEC ethos of learning through practice, maintaining close ties with local businesses.
YIAA Night
Held monthly, YIAA Night is a distinctive event fully planned, organized, promoted, and performed by students. It encompasses a wide range of formats including music performances, thematic shows, and talk shows. Since the academy’s founding, it has become the most anticipated monthly celebration for students, faculty, and parents alike. Each event is also documented by students from the Media department.
It is through such continued collaboration, coordination, and refinement that YIAA students come to understand BTEC not merely as a curriculum, but as a process—learning to communicate, cooperate, identify challenges, and solve problems together through real-world activities. This is hands-on project-based learning, the very essence of BTEC.
08
Masterclass
The "Masterclass" is another distinctive programme that has been integral to YIAA since its establishment. Each month, YIAA invites internationally renowned masters from home and abroad to conduct artistic lectures and international arts exchange workshops. Tailored master guidance sessions are designed according to the specialized curriculum of each department, where masters provide direct feedback on student work, identify areas for improvement, and enhance students' BTEC expertise through interactive dialogue. Notable guests have included the CCTV Children's Spring Festival Gala directing team, distinguished young Austrian pianist Master Christina, and Austrian virtuoso | young pianist Christina.
